According to the desire of the customer the electrical efficiency, transparency and isolation values can be produced to fit a specific project. PowerWindows will enable users to be in close contact with the conversion of light into electricity while at home, at work or traveling.
Finch Buildings make modular houses from high-quality and sustainable wood. The units can be adjusted to the environment and circumstances. For instance the modules can be adjusted to the users, the usage and the location. It can be used as permanent or temporary housing.
The environment is under pressure from thousands of tons of Co2 emitted by vehicles every day. Bubble Post aims to make logistic transportation 100% ecological. The company was founded in 2013 in Gent and is now delivering in 40 cities throughout Belgium and Netherlands. Currently they have 200 employees. The goods are delivered to warehouses at the outskirts of the city, where they are carefully sorted and bundled. Then the goods are delivered per bike, electric cars and electric vans.
Partago is an innovative car-sharing network based in Gent, Belgium. Partago is a co-operation so all their members own a part of the company. At the moment they have three Renault Zoë’s driving around in the city. With an app members can reserve a car and pick it up at their desired time. Soon they want to have an electric car in every neighbourhood of the city.
I interviewed Joachim Jacob, the owner of the Partago. Joachim has a clear view on the current state of e-mobility in Belgium which he explains in the interview.
Bluerise develops solutions to harness the Ocean’s power. Bluerise is a technology provider and project developer of Ocean Thermal Energy solutions. The thermal energy stored in the tropical ocean can be used to generate sustainable electricity, cooling, and fresh water. They specialize in OTEC (Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion), SWAC (Seawater Air Conditioning) technologies and related Deep Sea Water applications.
GEEF Cafe (literally translation: GIVE Cafe) is a restaurant/ lunchroom where you can pay-as-you-can. People with more money to spend can give a meal, coffee or tea to someone who has less.
The restaurant was founded by Judith Manshanden who’s been working on this concept for several years. It was hard to find the right people to believe in the concept and after having several tries she finally managed to get het own location right in the Jordaan, the cosiest neighborhood in Amsterdam.

StoneCycling makes construction materials from waste. They analyze different kinds of waste like construction or industrial waste, then look at the potential of the materials, then make new recipes from it and eventually make bricks from it in a comparable way as they make traditional bricks. The bricks comply to the same requirements as traditional ones.

Planq is a design studio founded by Anton en Dennis Teeuw. Planq’s designs are inspired by nature and environmentally consciously. They do that by using locally available resources.

Seepje is 100% natural and fair trade detergent from Nepal. They use the Sapindus mukorossi-fruit super peel which gives a natural form of soap in contact with water.
Seepje’s missions is to make the world cleaner and more beautiful! Seepje is a social enterprise. When you wash your clothes with Seepje they take of the conservation of nature in Nepal. They also there improve the working and living conditions. The company works together with Siza, a organization which provides work to people with mental and/or physical disabilities. The people who work there, called the “waskanjers” or “washing heroes” have an important role in the production of Seepje.
